Computer Science Student

Hey there! I'm Egid Metalia, currently on a mission to save the digital world from hackers and code a few cool things along the way. When I'm not diving into cybersecurity at NYIT, you’ll probably find me playing around with AI, blockchain, or finding creative ways to break—then fix—things. Tech nerd by day, concierge by night, and always ready for the next big challenge.

  • AI & Machine learning - Teaching machines to get smarter - without them plotting to overthrow us

  • Back-End Development - Crafting powerful back-end using PYTHON, JAVA, PHP

  • Recorded tenants’ comments, complaints, and life stories.

  • Answered phone calls, made reservations, took messages, and occasionally played phone tag.

  • Recommended the best dining and entertainment spots in NYC—basically a human Yelp.

  • Used my conflict resolution skills to keep tenants happy, even when things got tricky.

  • Kept the lobby looking pristine, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming with precision.

  • Helped transfer luggage to and from apartments like a pro.

  • Delivered messages and complaints with a smile, and made sure they reached the right person.

Web Developing / Freelancer

AKNY MEDIA

  • Designed and maintained websites using WIX, WordPress, HTML making sure they looked good and worked even better.

  • Kept in touch with leads and clients—yes, I was the person sending those friendly email updates.

  • Reported project progress and updates to clients, so they always knew what was happening with their websites.

  • Assisted students with advanced coding problems, helping them untangle lines of code with ease.

  • Helped with grading and record-keeping—basically, I kept the class running smoothly behind the scenes.

  • Cybersecurity is my thing—I'm learning how to protect the digital world, one firewall at a time.

  • Took home 1st place at the United Engineering Manhattan Hackathon in April 2023. (Who knew solving problems under pressure could be so rewarding?)
